Who: Tamara, when I saw you in the commercial for House of Blinds & Drapery, I thought for sure that you were an actress playing a designer!
Tamara: Yes, that's me that you're seeing and, no, I am not an actress. I'm the head designer at House of Blinds, Drapery & Carpet. A lot of people don't know that HOB has great designers that will come to your home absolutely free. My job is to let people know about this wonderful program that we offer.

Who: So how does this program work?
Tamara: Shop-At-Home is very, very simple. It's easy for the consumer. You make one phone call, make an appointment and someone comes right to your home absolutely free with lots of samples and choices specifically for your needs. We have great designers who have been working with window design for years. They have a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge and a lot of jobs behind them.

Who: I never knew HOB had this kind of expertise available.
Tamara: We do and the designers really know what they're doing. What better way to change the look of your home by changing the window treatment? It's the first thing you look at when you walk into the room. It's the focal point of a room.

Who: There is an old adage that states: "our eyes are the windows to our soul". That must make our windows in our house like the eyes of our lives... or something like that.
Tamara: (laugh) Ahhh well, we think that the windows in your home are pretty important. The window is the first thing you look at, it's the focal point in a room. It's easy to change the look of a whole room by adding drapery to blinds, adding color to a room, adding texture! All of our decorators know what's happening, they know what's hot. They know how to put it together.

Who: So, Tamara, what's hot in window treatments right now?
Tamara: The hottest trend right now is drapery over blinds. It can really spice up a window. You have wood blinds, cell shades, lots of different blinds available at HOB. Adding drapery or other kinds of window treatments over these blinds really is the hottest thing right now. You can add side panels, scarves. There are cornice boards and all kinds of valances. There are so many ways to dress up a window.

Who: Everyone would love to get creative input when it comes to decorating their home, is it really free?
Tamara: Yes! It is absolutely free. There are so many different ways to change the look of a window, so it's a good idea to have someone come over and give you their ideas and bring all the samples to your home. Plus, we have an awesome Window Designer Idea Book that is chock-full of great ideas with wonderful large pictures.

Who: That sounds helpful.
Tamara: It is. We've all purchased things and brought them home and then decided that they're just not great. The Window Designer Idea Book stops you from making that kind of mistake. There are many, many different combinations and the design idea book will tell you what you need and show you how to do it.

Who: Plus, you get the expertise from your Shop-At-Home designers.
Tamara: Right. What's great about Shop-At-Home is that you can see how it looks in your lighting next to your sofa, in front of your window. There is no guess work. You can pick the design that you like right in your own home.

Who: What's this buzz-word I'm hearing a lot about, "seasonal drapery"?
Tamara: Seasonal drapery is another way of saying you can change your window out for spring / summer or for fall / winter.

Who: Wouldn't that get expensive?
Tamara: Well, HOB has a great two-for-one pricing right now. It's really not as expensive as anyone would think. You really have to check it out.

Who: Tamara, if you could give us only one tip to improve our homes, what would it be?
Tamara: It's color! It's all about color and texture. In addition to window treatments, HOB can create custom pillows, bed covers, skirts, benches and shower curtains to coordinate your entire home!
